We do not grow absolutely, chronologically. We grow
sometimes in one dimension, and not in another; unevenly. We grow partially. We
are relative. We are mature in one realm, childish in another. The past,
present, and future mingle and pull us backward, forward, or fix us in the
present. We are made up of layers, cells, constellations. [Anaïs Nin]
Which is WHY we encourage the “young things” in ourselves, and
Life itself, to grow.
Even when the growth is messy and especially when it feels
too hard. That is why the encouragement is essential.
We can't be afraid of
change. You may feel very secure in the pond that you are in, but if you never
venture out of it, you will never know that there is such a thing as an ocean,
a sea. Holding onto something that is good for you now, may be the very reason
why you don't have something better. [C. JoyBell C.]
This is the encouragement I give myself. Clearly I listen
since I’ve been leap-frogging ponds for decades Now.
Why do you go away? So
that you can come back. …Coming back to where you started is not the same as
never leaving. [Terry
Pratchett, A Hat Full of Sky]
Really there’s no place
to come back to. It’s all growing.
I love you, Currie
