Currie's Gratitude 27 September 2013

Let's face it. No kid in high school feels as though they fit in.  [Stephen King]

I’ve puzzled til my puzzler was sore, so I won’t EVEN try explaining WHY “fit” is among my favourite words. I’m just going to go with it.

What Stephen King said, yes, I get that. And I would extend it far BEyond high school, too. At least in my own experience of the odd desire to fit in. I’ve never really “fit” anywhere, for more than a few blinks. Still, fitting inside my own skin and BEing ME, Now, Today, at this point in Life feel exquisitely delicious.

The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them to fit our own image. Otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them. [Thomas Merton]

I think this is the sort of “fit” I’m particularly fond of. At least in the BEing made-over to “fit” someone else’s idea of how I should BE. Or DOing something similar myself…

Instead of being concerned that you have no office, be concerned to think how you may fit yourself for office. Instead of being concerned that you are not known, seek to be worthy of being known. [Confucius]

As always, Confucius was very VERY spot-on…

I love you, Currie

LOL! After my wishing my outside hadn't grown so much, I saw "fit" and thought of how I am not fit anymore. ;)
